Is World of Frozen closing? What Disney has actually announced
By Toby · Published · Last updated
The Frozen show is taking a winter break, and the boat ride has a closure scheduled for 2027. Here are the dates and what they mean for a visit.

If Frozen is the part of a Disney trip you’re most excited about, hearing that it’s “closing” sounds pretty worrying. We checked Disney’s own notices, and there are two different things to keep track of: a winter break for a show and a short ride closure next year. Neither notice says the whole land is shutting.
The Arendelle show takes a winter break
A Celebration in Arendelle will pause from 7 November 2026 to 2 April 2027. Those dates appear on Disney’s official show page. This is the boat show featuring Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Kristoff, rather than the Frozen Ever After ride.
That distinction matters if you’ve seen a clip of Olaf and have your heart set on watching that particular performance. A visit during the break won’t give you the usual show, even though you’re still visiting World of Frozen. Check the programme for your date rather than assuming every video online shows what will be running when you arrive.
There’s a Christmas celebration coming instead
Disney has announced Ring in the Season with Anna and Elsa for the Christmas celebrations in Arendelle Bay. It will feature the sisters in winter outfits and last around seven minutes, with several performances each day.
Disney’s Christmas announcement covers 7 November 2026 to 6 January 2027. It also includes The Arendelle Carolers, festive decorations and seasonal food. So the winter news includes something new to watch, as well as a break for the regular show.
The Christmas season finishes before the listed pause for A Celebration in Arendelle ends. Disney’s festive announcement doesn’t set out a replacement show for that remaining period, so we wouldn’t promise one for a later winter visit.
Frozen Ever After closes in September 2027
The separate ride notice is for 13 to 24 September 2027, a period of 12 days. Disney’s Frozen Ever After page confirms those dates. This is next September, not a closure happening now in October 2026.
The notice doesn’t give a reason or describe any planned work. It also doesn’t explicitly announce a reopening day, so 25 September should not be treated as a guaranteed return date just because it follows the listed closure.
Why one closure doesn’t mean the whole land
World of Frozen opened on 29 March 2026 as part of Disney Adventure World. It includes the Arendelle village, character experiences, dining and shops, alongside the ride and bay show. Disney’s official introduction to the land explains how those different experiences fit together.
A closed attraction can still be a big disappointment. If the boat ride is the main reason your family wants to go, walking around the village won’t necessarily make up for missing it. But it’s useful to know exactly which part is affected before deciding whether a date works for you.
What I’d check before a visit
I’d start with the thing everyone most wants to do. Is it the boat ride, seeing Olaf in the show, or meeting Anna and Elsa? Those are different plans, so check each one rather than looking for a single “Frozen opening” date.
Keep your must-do list short enough that you can check it again closer to the trip. It’s much easier to adjust the plan at home than explain a surprise closure at the entrance.

Official information checked on 25 October 2026. Attraction and entertainment schedules can change.
